Thankful

SO thakful for family and friends like you (whom we miss) and that He is truly our Prince of Peace, our comfort and our joy...and we can look forward to worshipping Him forever...He has shown us so much love! ~Nikki H.

Gratitude

I'm thankful for a difficult time in my personal life that's teaching me the power of God's grace. What comfort can be found in Romans 8:5 & 6 - those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit... the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace. When I'm tempted to look at my circumstances for hope instead of my God, I'm sunk, but I'm thankful this Thanksgiving for a new perspective. One of life and peace that's found when I submit my mind and heart to be shaped by the Spirit. - Lacie

Thankful

It's been a hard year. Next year promises to be much harder. Yet even so, there's so much to be thankful for. I'm thankful most of all for my God, who's given me a rock of truth to cling to during the storms. I'm so deeply thankful for the peace, grace, and sanity He provides me. I know I owe so much to Him and that He's carrying me along. I'm thankful for my family. For my wife whom I love with all my heart - I'm thankful for everything I learn from and because of her and all that she does for our family. I'm thankful for my kids who I love without reservation. I'm thankful beyond description for their hugs and words and laughs and those little moments of time together that I cherish deeply. I'm so very thankful for my job and coworkers, and all the provision God has made for us. I'm thankful for friends old and new and the support, guidance, and insight they provide. I'm thankful for my health and every single new day that dawns. I'm thankful for the country I live in and the incredible, underappreciated men and women who have served and are serving to protect our nation. God bless you all.

I'm especially thankful for good health in my family. For example, after several years of cancer treatments for my parents, they are both doing well. I'm also thankful for the past 3 years of my husband being home on a daily basis - we have really appreciated this respite. God has taught us alot during our time in Germany and I'm thankful for the growth. -Jennie

I am thankful for my wonderful family and friends. They have made a very challenging year filled with two deployments go by quickly.

Another Thanksgiving With my Bride

On Thanksgiving 2001, I wondered if it would be my last Thanksgiving with my beautiful wife. I wondered if her brain tumor would return. I wondered what I would do if it did. I thought (probably too much at times) about what life would be like without her (and thought it would seem very empty). 9 Thanksgivings later, I am so thankful that my bride, my soulmate, my best friend is making pies in our kitchen. My life is immeasurably richer because of her continued presence on this planet.

The Smile That Changes the World

Thankfully, it's fairly rare that I have a "bad" day. However, there are times when I might be a little frustrated, tired, or just have a bad attitude. I've noticed lately that it only takes a smile from Abi and a "daddy!" to change my whole world. To say that I'm thankful for that smile (and the whole person who flashes it at me) seems like a gross understatement, but I'll say it anyway.
